Addison has an active family community that is engaged in helping the school throughout the year. There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering in the classroom, one-time events and on-going leadership opportunities.

Some of our ongoing volunteering opportunities are :
Project Cornerstone
Cornerstone Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum : Spend 45 minutes in the classroom each month reading a book and leading an activity to drive the message home. Additionally you’re expected to attend monthly 60 minute training sessions for each book.
PERK: Get to know the entire class and become a teacher and “trusted adult” for every student. You also pick up some great SEM tactics that will help with your parenting.

Library Volunteer
The main activity consists of checking books in and out and returning them to shelves. The role is typically divided up between multiple parents. Shift is 30 minutes and can be as infrequent as once per month depending on the number of volunteers per class.
PERK: You get to observe your child and their peers together, and outside the normal classroom environment. The students also become familiar with you as a trusted adult.

Room Parent
Message the class roughly once a month on behalf of the teacher or the community, and collect monetary contributions for teacher gifts a couple times a year.
PERK: Get to build a special rapport with your student’s teacher, as well as with the other parents in the class.

Yard Duty
This is a great opportunity to come on campus and watch the kids play during lunch time.
PERK: All the students at Addison become familiar with you as a trusted adult.

Photography Coordinator
Work closely with the yearbook team to provide photos that highlight student experiences, school spirit, and the memories that make our year unforgettable.
PERK: Participate in, and capture, special moments at school events throughout the year.

Voluntariado

Room Parent
Envíe un mensaje a la clase aproximadamente una vez al mes en nombre de la maestra o de la comunidad, y recopile contribuciones monetarias para regalos para los profesores un par de veces al año.
