We’ve got a Belgium Beer Tasting, The Addison Father Daughter Dance, and Dad’s Poker Night, along with dozens of other parties that are being auctioned at our biggest social event of the year, THE ADDISON ANNUAL AUCTION. Parties will be auctioned throughout the night, culminating in a live auction, where the most popular parties are up for grabs.

Addison Families: We‘d like to tell you about the tradition known as “The Auction” After a two-year hiatus, THE ADDISON ANNUAL AUCTION is back!

For those of you who have never attended, this is the largest event hosted by any elementary school in Palo Alto. It is a tradition that we’re very proud of, and the family- and teacher-sponsored parties and events are a great way to build community and pay for our science program, field trips, and supplies.

The festivities take place at Lucie Stern, and doors open at 6 pm.

This year, we’re lucky to get the amazing Klipptones on stage. (You may have seen this 5-piece band perform at Giants games). This is a great opportunity for an adult night out. We’ll be auctioning parties for adults, families and kids throughout the night, culminating in a live auction, where the most popular parties are up for grabs.

All proceeds will go to programs at Addison and food, music and cocktails are FREE. Dress up in Roaring 20s gear (or just show up the way you like).

We’re launching our first ADDISON GIVES event of the 2022-2023 school year. 

During the last week of October, Addison families can participate in a downtown community project—making potluck dinners for guests at Hotel de Zink, a program sponsored by LifeMoves and the Palo Alto Opportunity Center. Hotel de Zink provides emergency shelter and food to those in dire need. 

Between October 24th and 30th, those who want to participate can make or purchase a dinner entree, side dish or dessert to feed 15 people. Dishes can then be dropped off at a central downtown location and, if they wish, kids and their parents stay to help serve. ADDISON GIVES is a program that was started two years ago. It is about teaching children social responsibility and the value of contributing to our community and learning by doing. In 2021, the ADDISON GIVES / Hotel de Zink project was so popular, we inspired the families at Walter Hayes to join us in this effort.

Local businesses are also chipping in—like Mountain Camp, Gott’s and Decathlon Sports Club. All proceeds will go to programs at Addison.
