Dear Addison Community,
A big welcome to all of our new and returning community members! We look forward to seeing all of you this week as we come together as staff, students, and caretakers to kick off the new school year.
Our community is what makes Addison special, and our community is at its best when we are all engaged. The majority of our programs are either led or supported by parents/caretakers, and our students thrive when they see us all contributing and working together. This year’s opportunities range from major roles to minor one-off contributions, and we still have a lot to fill, so please take a moment to review the areas that require additional support and consider helping out.
Please also consider taking a moment to join and contribute financially to our PTA. Our mission is to help foster an inclusive, dynamic, and equitable community where all students feel safe to share, learn, and explore. In addition to planning community events and enabling enrichment programs like Project Cornerstone and Bill the Science Guy, the PTA also provides teacher grants and funds library books, field trips, and classroom supplies for every student. We suggest a donation of $200, but welcome any amount from those who are able and willing to give.
Lastly, mark your calendars for October 20th, this year’s Auction Night! For those of you who haven’t been, Auction Night is a blowout, adult-only event that serves as our one major fundraiser for the year. The Auction is one of Addison’s oldest traditions and is a storied part of our history. It will be a night that you certainly will not want to miss and we hope to see all of you!
Thanks so much for reading. We are honored to serve as your PTA co-presidents again this year and look forward to working with all of you to make 2023-2024 another incredible year at Addison!
Best,
Corie and Nik
Mejor,
Corie y Nik
