Volunteering

Addison has an active parent community that is engaged in helping the school throughout the year. There are many ways to get involved, from one time events to on-going leadership opportunities.  Below is a list of just some of the needs and opportunities.  Let us know how you’d like to be involved by completing the volunteer form here: PTA volunteer form.

PTA Coordinator Positions:

__ Grade Level Class Picnic Coordinators (one or two per grade)
__ Room Parents (1-4 parents per classroom)

School Hours Volunteer Opportunities:

On-going or repeating events:

__ Noon Science – held once/month during lunch
__ Noon Art – held once/month during lunch
__ Library- help either during your child’s class time or at lunch
__ Recess and lunch volunteer

One-time events (please check the Addison calendar for exact dates):

__ Fall Book Fair (fall)
__ Unity Day (October, noon)
__ Halloween Breakfast, (October 31, morning)
__ Bike Rodeo (fall, grade 3 only)
__ Jump Rope For Heart (February, lunchtime)
__ Teacher Appreciation Events (May)
__ Stone Soup (winter/spring) – help children prepare soup for teachers
__ Field Day (May/June, morning and/or afternoon)
